Welcome to Moortova Miniature American Shepherds!


We are a family run, dedicated, responsible breeder of Miniature American Shepherds based on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon (UK), with passion for the breed we aim to produce the traditional Australian Shepherd in a smaller, compact package. Our dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club and all adults are fully health tested before breeding, this includes their genetic panel along with screening their hips, eyes and elbows. Before anything our dogs are pets, they live alongside us as part of the family. Our puppies have gone on to suit a variety of pet and sport homes, they're dotted around England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, we've even had pups go to Norway and Cyprus!

Our breeding ambitions: 
Our dogs have been carefully selected and imported from fellow breeders in the UK, America, Canada, France, Poland and Norway for their health, structure and bloodlines. Through our future breeding we hope to breed beautiful, unique dogs with strong Aussie features and overall produce healthy, intelligent dogs to suit the lifestyles they have ahead of them, whether it's a working or sports home or being a family pet. We have great variety within our dogs, regarding size, temperament, energy and build but what they all have in common is great health, trainability and a friendly nature.

Moving forward we hope to bring some smaller, lesser seen bloodlines into our breeding to improve genetic diversity, the studs we use are carefully selected with this in mind. We will not fully exclude 'common' lines, but rather develop them into something more unique through the generations. They are the most popular bloodlines for a reason, being some of the most consistent producers within the breed.

We offer lifetime support to our puppy owners and are excited to see how all of our offspring mature and what they can achieve.

We have the right to refuse a sale for any reason, we want to feel confident that our dogs are going to 5 star homes where they belong.  We are always entitled to first pick of any litter born here, priority is given to guardian homes seconded to families on the waiting list in a first come first serve order subject to suitability. Although the buyers preferences will always be considered, we want to set our puppies up for success in their homes and therefore we allow time to learn their personalities before placing them rather than selling them solely based on visual appeal.
